Block Party
We live next door to a cul-de-sac. One of our cul-de-sac neighbors is big into Halloween, and hosted her 17th annual Halloween party on Saturday (she was dressed as "Victoria's Biggest Secret" - hilarious!). I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood was invited. She and her husband blocked off the street so the kiddos could run around, provided a live band in one of the driveways, and served 60lbs of very tasty "steak chili". They also had every kind of cake/cookie/treat you could imagine. I sampled the brownie cookies, and must say they were delicious! We met quite a few of our neighbors for the first time. Kyle even got himself roped into playing in a basketball league at our new gym, where as it turns out, ALL of our neighbors are also members. It was a fun night, we have very friendly, nice neighbors. The Boy and his buddies spent most of the night sword fighting and otherwise chasing each other around. He also managed to fill his pockets to overflowing with candy ;) Sadly, at 8:00 on the dot, the police showed up and shut down the band. What a bunch of losers! Just as well, I suppose. We had to leave early to return The Boy to his mother.
