A plea to St. Joseph
If burying a statue in your yard will help you sell a house, will making a plea to good ol' St. Joe help you buy a house?! [and by the way, isn't St. Joe the guy you pray to for a parking spot too? What's up with that? Is he the saint of housing and transportation?] So, here's the scoop. Mom went looking at houses the past 2 weekends in a row. She even went after work during the week. Well, apparently a foreclosure went on the market yesterday and our/her relator was so jazzed about it he went out there yesterday morning to scope it out. I guess they decided on the phone/online to make an offer, because Mom went out to the house this morning before work to meet the relator and sign the offer -- and incidentally, actually SEE the house for the first time. Mind you, the house must be a pretty hot commodity, because rumor has it someone else put an offer in yesterday afternoon. The house is empty/ready for move-in and the closing date is April 16th.
Here's hoping that Mom's cash offer will beat the other offer - even if it's lower than the asking price, and here's hoping that St. Joe is the right guy to hear this plea: puh-leeeze let Mom be the winning bidder on this house!

Hello CCT,
Congratulations on your new addition to the Family. My wife and I are expecting our 5th (Oh Heaven Help Me).
St. Jude is the patron Saint of lost causes, people and things. Perhaps a plea to him would help find that house.
Mother Mary is also always a powerful influence.
Ah, Jude it is ... thanks! Being a recovering catholic myself, I've forgotten a few of the details ;)
And congrats on your 5th pregnancy! I saw Dawn's post just this morning. How exciting, and yet somewhat daunting. I'm still imagining life with my first (on the outside) never mind 5!
You know, one of these days the "Texas friends of Jessica" will have to meet in person ;)
