PNC Sucks

Never ever, ever bank with PNC if you have the choice. Don't get a loan from them, or a mortgage. Don't open a checking account. And god forbid, DO NOT apply for an SBA with them. They are the worst bunch of morons I have run across in my life.

They've "lost" every fax we've sent them, including copies of our tax returns (which by the way, includes my ex-husband's social security number), the articles of formation for our LLC, voided checks, etc. They've asked us repeatedly to supply information we've already given them. They've sent us FOUR versions of our "final" closing checklist, which has included items not required for an LLC -- indicating that they don't even know their own laws/requirements. They've promised to close on our SBA every week for the last three weeks. As of today, they *now* need a list of equipment owned by our entity. What? We're not open for business. We need a LOAN to finish paying the franchise fee, after which we can complete the training, after which we might actually buy a laptop/printer/fax (thereby acquiring equipment) and start hiring care-givers and finding clients.

Oh and get this little nugget of incompetency ... b/c the loan terms are 10yrs, they're *now* requiring that we have a 10yr lease on our office space. Our leasing company doesn't even offer leases over 1 yr. What NEW, SMALL business owner signs a 10yr lease (assuming one even exists) BEFORE opening their doors?! And to add insult to injury they told us on Monday that we have to carry insurance on the furniture PROVIDED to us through our lease. Are they insane? Surely the leasing company insures their own property. Why would WE have to insure it? It's not ours! And even if we do have to, why the he|| didn't they say so in the first place, say on the FIRST closing checklist. I am so fed up. We told our contact today, that this is it. They either decide they have everything they need by 5PM or we're starting the process over again with Chase.

Oh, and in response to my question of what happens to a fax that is received by them with no transmission errors, yet somehow disappears? "We'll look into it." Then nothing. Black hole. No no follow-up, no apology. They say, when asked about it again, "it's not like we lost them on purpose." Are you freaking kidding me? How do so many faxes get "lost"? How do faxes they request that you send them with sensitive personal information get LOST? They're a bank and they act irresponsibly with financial information?! At my company, if a person isn't there personally to receive a fax as it's being spit out of the machine, someone who is there, puts it in the person's mailbox. Duh. You mean to tell me, our little 65 person start-up can get that right and a BANK can't? C'mon.
