It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring
No, it's not actually raining right this very minute. And in fact, since we got back from our honeymoon, it's only rained (on me) in the middle of the night or here-and-there driving around town. But, yes, Austin and the surrounding areas are in a flood predicament. It apparently rained every day while we were gone, and just the other night, Marble Falls got 18" in just 6 hours. Many thanks to those of you who have inquired about our safety - rest assured we are fine and in no foreseeable danger.
Back in March when my mom was visiting, we went out on the lake. It was at least 20ft below normal and there were islands everywhere. Take a look at how things now stand (compliments of the LCRA website).

Gate Operations: Four floodgates are open at Mansfield Dam.
Lake level forecast (Forecast is subject to change as conditions develop): Lake levels are forecast to rise to about 698 to 700 ft msl by Monday July 2 based on rain that has already fallen. Forecasts and operational plans may change with additional rainfall.
